One last product that is worthy of taking with you on your rounds of your stands is the Holeb Bushman. This is a machete like tool that is PERFECTLY balanced for cutting chores while making or trimming shooting lanes, clearing paths or doing general camp work. I have used mine for about six months now and would not trade it for any machete that I have ever owned. It is small enough to toss in a pack, heavy enough to split small wood and kindling, large enough to whack down saplings and well made to last many years. The Bushman works well in a pinch. I have throughly brutalized it, hacking, prying, and pounding on whatever, and it takes what I dish out. I especially like how easy it takes an edge from a smooth creek stone. The only thing I would change is making the saw teeth offset (they kinda clog up) and maybe a leather sheath with an extra side pouch for a sharping stone, pocket knife, or survival kit. I'm delighted to find an American company that is as interested in coming up with practical products as I am in using them. Thanks again. - K.G.

I purchased the Bushman recently as it seemed like a handy tool to have available in my snowmobile. Not really sure when I would need it or for what purpose however it came in handy very quickly. Last weekend while ice fishing for 3 days in New Hampshire a fellow fisherman was looking for a knife to gut a trout with. Having nothing else available I suggested he try the Bushman. After a couple practice swings in the snow he chopped the head and tail off effortlessly! That was not the only use we had for it this weekend. Having pulled the bait bucket from the hole in the ice we needed to find some brush to fill the hole with as a safety precaution after leaving the site. The Bushman worked better than any hatchet I have ever used! Quickly, effortlessly, easily all words that come to mind when describing the tool's prowess.
